The SHAHA Board held a meeting 1/26/2026.
The minutes from the 11/19/2025 board meeting were approved as read.
The Treasurer’s Report was read and approved.
The board debated increasing dues from $50 to $100, citing the need for better legal representation and community improvements. Concerns were raised about the public perception of the dues increase and the potential impact on membership. The idea of hosting community events to improve relations was proposed, with suggestions for a minimum contribution to enhance community engagement. After considerable discussion, a motion to raise the 2026 dues to $100 was made and approved. The deadline for paying 2026 dues was set to 2/28/2026 (later revised to 3/31/2026.)
Old Business:
It was noted that the HOA’s claim to have the liability insurance pay for the emergency exit land lawsuit was denied. A board member said that he would like to challenge the denial.
New Business:
Planning for the upcoming membership meeting was discussed. While the Methodist Church in Cornwall allows access at 6pm, check-in of homeowners will start at 6:30pm for a meeting start time of 7pm. Board members volunteered to perform check-in and to man the cash box, receiving dues and providing receipts.
A board member resigned from the board due to personal reasons. The board will address filling the vacant position at the next board meeting.
The Membership Meeting planning group will meet Monday 2/2 at 7pm via zoom to finalize planning for the Wed 2/4 membership meeting.
